Folkestone mini golf course
Around 400m² of 10mm Golf Pro turf
The client prepared the underlying base. Our team fitted the playing surface, carefully cutting around curved concrete borders and adding grass edging to frame the greens.
As Good As Grass installs artificial turf for mini golf, crazy golf and adventure golf courses. We work with leisure venues, schools and private clients on new layouts, prepared-base installations and replacement of worn course surfacing.
The detail matters: turf choice, joins, contours and the finish around cups and borders all contribute to how a hole plays. We help you plan the surface specification and agree the preparation and fitting work your site needs.
See our turf in completed courses, from precisely edged putting lanes to themed adventure golf holes.
Putting lanes need a surface selected for the way the ball travels. We discuss the intended pace, contours, visitor use and whether the course is indoors or outdoors before recommending the turf. A decorative grass border may use a different product from the main playing line.
At Folkestone we fitted 10mm Golf Pro turf. That is a real project specification, rather than a fixed requirement for every course. Ask us about samples and how the proposed turf will suit your layout.
Our guide to choosing artificial grass for mini golf and crazy golf explains the selection in more detail.
We can fit turf to a suitable prepared base or quote for the preparation your site needs. Agreeing that responsibility early helps your course designer, builder and our installers work to the same plan.
A surface-only installation still starts with checking the base, levels, drainage arrangements and edges. Turf will follow the surface underneath, so unintended bumps, movement or damaged areas need attention before fitting.
Indoor mini golf flooring needs to suit the existing floor, fixing method and cleaning routine. We discuss the finish around walls, raised features and paths with the team responsible for the venue fit-out.
Outdoor courses need an appropriate base and drainage plan alongside the turf specification. We also consider surrounding paths, changes in level and access for installation. Share any venue requirements and product documentation requests before the specification is agreed.
For themed areas, coloured artificial grass can add contrast around the playing surface. Colours and decorative finishes should be chosen alongside the intended ball behaviour.
If your course is already built, a turf replacement may be the right next step. We assess worn areas, joins, edges and the condition of the underlying base before agreeing whether the work covers individual holes or a wider resurfacing project.
A new surface can change how the ball rolls. We discuss the replacement turf and finish around existing cups and obstacles, along with any repairs needed underneath. Tell us which holes cause problems and when the venue can make them available.
Need cleaning or a smaller repair first? Our artificial grass maintenance and repair service covers existing surfaces.
A few practical details help us give you useful advice and a clearer quotation.
Share the number of holes, rough surface area, indoor or outdoor setting and expected use. Tell us whether you are planning a family attraction, a school activity area or a private practice space.
Send a plan and photos, and tell us what is already built. Identify who is handling groundwork, drainage, cups, edging, obstacles and other features so we can define the turf installation scope.
Let us know your postcode, target opening date and available working hours. For an operating venue, include any closure window and areas that must stay accessible during the work.
Use these guide ranges for an initial surfacing budget. The turf area, base preparation, curved edges, contours, access and installation detail affect the final quote. A turf installation price is not a total budget for building and opening a golf attraction.
| Installation requirement | Guide price | Scope to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Standard mini golf turf installation | £95–£140 per m² | The agreed preparation, turf specification, fitting, edging and course detail. Site conditions affect the final price. |
| Indoor or surface-only fitting | £45–£85 per m² | Fitting to an agreed, suitable existing base. Any repairs, levelling or other preparation should be itemised separately. |
| Existing-course refurbishment | Quoted after assessment | Removal of old turf, base repairs, replacement surface and access around retained features. |
| Complex or themed layouts | Individual quotation | Detailed cuts, contours and feature interfaces. Agree which parts of the wider course construction are included. |
Your written quote should identify the measured turf area, base work, surface specification, joins, edges, waste removal and installation responsibilities. Confirm the VAT-inclusive total, exclusions and programme before ordering.
List obstacles, themed structures, paths, lighting and other venue works separately in your overall project budget unless they are expressly included in the proposal. For more detail, read our mini golf turf installation cost guide.

Artificial turf removes the mowing, but a busy course still needs regular care. Leaves, litter and dirt can affect the playing surface, while joins and edges need checking for wear or lifting.
We explain care requirements at handover. If your existing course needs attention, ask about cleaning, maintenance and repairs.
A practical process for new courses, prepared bases and refurbishment work.
We discuss your drawings, intended use and programme, then assess the existing ground or prepared base and the fitting details around your course.
Confirm the turf, preparation, contours, joins, edges and responsibilities. The proposal sets out the installation work, price and agreed programme.
Our in-house team cuts and fits the surface around the agreed layout, finishes the joins and edges, and explains the care requirements before handover.

A specialist putting turf is normally the starting point for the playing surface. We select the product around the intended ball roll, contours, traffic and indoor or outdoor setting. At Folkestone we fitted 10mm Golf Pro turf; the right specification for another course may differ. Decorative borders can use a different grass from the putting lane.
Yes, subject to checking that the base and installation details are suitable. Our Folkestone project used a client-prepared base before we fitted approximately 400m² of golf turf. Agree levels, drainage, contours, cups, edging and fitting requirements with us before the base is finished.
Yes. We assess the existing turf, base, joins and edges, then agree the removal, any repairs and the replacement surface. Tell us whether you want individual holes or the wider course resurfaced, and share photos and your available closure window.
The guide ranges above are £95–£140 per m² for standard mini golf turf installation and £45–£85 per m² for indoor or surface-only fitting. They are planning figures, not fixed packages. The quote needs to specify preparation, products, fitting details, exclusions and the VAT-inclusive total. Wider course construction and venue costs require their own budget.
We help plan the turf layout, surface specification and fitting around the course design, and can quote for agreed preparation work. For a wider attraction, make clear who is responsible for obstacles, themed structures, paths, lighting and other construction. We agree our installation scope before work begins.
Yes. The preparation and fixing method depend on the setting and the base. Indoor work needs coordination with the venue fit-out; outdoor work also needs an appropriate drainage plan. Send photos and any drawings so we can discuss the proposed system.
No. An underlay is not an automatic part of every putting surface. We agree the complete specification around the base and intended play. The Folkestone installation used a firm prepared base without a shock pad; that was a project-specific decision.
The programme depends on the area, preparation, access and cutting detail. We agree dates and working arrangements with you after reviewing the project. If you want part of an existing venue to stay open, discuss separation from customers, access routes and any phased work before dates are confirmed.
Remove litter and debris, follow the specified brushing and cleaning guidance, and inspect joins, edges, cups and high-traffic areas. Keep drainage routes clear outdoors. We can advise on professional cleaning and repair work for an existing surface.
Confirm the product and workmanship guarantee terms in your written quote, including conditions, exclusions and maintenance requirements. Wear depends on the selected turf, visitor use, installation and care, so the guarantee should be considered alongside the proposed specification.
Send your postcode, approximate turf area or number of holes, indoor or outdoor setting, and preferred installation dates. Let us know whether the base is ready, needs preparation, or already has turf to replace.
Plans and photos help us understand the scope. Share them with your enquiry or email sales@asgoodasgrass.co.uk to discuss a free site survey and quotation.
