Heaton Dene Nursery
Needle Punch
As Good As Grass were requested to transform Heaton Dene’s current outdoor play area from a needle punch surface to a fully maintenance free soft play area.
The needle punch had deteriorated despite only being a few years old. These photos show how dirt had become imbedded into the surface and moss was forming on the edges.
Artificial Grass
The new artificial grass was laid once the old needle punch surface had been removed. The existing rubber base was cleaned up prior to installation. Our Deseo grass product was used, which we recommended as a dense, soft and very realistic surface. The expected lifespan is over 15 years.

Tarmac Replacement
Al Furqan Primary School in Birmingham needed to replace their hard tarmac area with a soft play sports area for the children.
The artificial grass can improve safety with reduced impact injuries caused by a hard surface such as tarmac. It is also more aesthetically pleasing and clean with no mud or dirt.
Artificial Grass Sports Surface
A two tone soft sports turf was laid with a sand infill. The area now provides an all weather solution for the children to play.
The children and teachers were delighted with the new artificial grass.

New Outdoor School Flooring

Notice how this particular artifical grass installation has a non-uniform shape. The grass was cut to follow the pathway curvature and allow for trees within the centre.

Anti-Bullying Zone
Lytham High School in Lancashire have won an award in conjunction with As Good As Grass for their pupil designed “Anti Bullying Area”.
The rotary club sponsored the garden which has synthetic grass covering a large metal leaf to illustrate a safe zone.

New Playground Flooring
The area around the school playground needed attention. This would allow an additional 300 sq metre's for the children to play on.
The school did not want hard landscaping as the majority of the area was on a gradient. As Good As Grass Ambassador was chosen as a perfect soft play surface. We installed this around the playground.

Cold Aston Primary School
Playground Flooring Requirements
The original concrete flooring at Cold Aston primary school was typical of many playgrounds. Concrete is an inexpensive, durable and practical surface but offers poor aesthetics with no safety advantages.
The school commisioned As Good As Grass to install safety playground flooring to reduce the risks associatated with play activities. This new project was aimed to capture the children's imagination and improve outside appearances whilst keeping safety in mind.
Artificial Grass Project Preperation
Artificial grass flooring was to be part of a major refurbishment of the school playground. The school received a site drawing from ESP (Education and Special Projects Limited) which shows how two seating areas are to be integrated with the new artificial grass.
Notice how this project highlights the diverse range of applications for artificial grass flooring. ESP installed a traversing wall, magnetic game boards and other curiousities which created a fantastically unique play area.
New School Playground Flooring
Cold Aston school chose our popular "Relax" grass (see product menu) as their playground flooring. This is a durable but soft 19mm two tone grass, which is perfect as a non-abrasive saftey surface. The Mount School
Playground Safety
Safety flooring was required for the school playground underneath the climbing frame and play equipment. The exisiting tarmac base was considered unsafe and did not suit the surrounding area. As Good As Grass were asked to provide a more suitable playground flooring solution with safety in mind.
This is one of two play areas that were covered in a soft, two tone 30mm grass.
Outdoor Play Flooring
The new outdoor flooring has a padded underlay to avoid injury if a child falls off the playground equipment. The artificial grass looks real and is hard wearing against heavy usage from the children's play time.

Highfield Grange School
All Weather Play Area
The school playground was boggy and the children could not play on it. Safety and dirt were both an issue so new outdoor flooring was urgently required.
We transformed the area in 5 days over the Easter holidays and the school returned to a new child friendly playground with artificial grass. Everyone at Highfield Grange is delighted with the new outdoor all weather play area.
